Senior Software Engineer (Job Code 11-SW-004)

The right candidate will be a motivated, productive self-starter who will interface with Newfield RF Engineers, partners and customers. Newfield provides a dynamic and challenging opportunity to work on the cutting edge of wireless engineering product development. Newfield is based in Berkeley, CA.

 

Primary Responsibilities

·  Develop new products and new capabilities to support cellular providers and wireless companies as they design, analyze, and optimize their wireless networks.

·  Develop and optimize data structures and algorithms

·  Develop and maintain intuitive cross-platform server, infrastructure and GUI code

·  Develop systems integration code for 3rd party software

·  Work with Newfield & customer engineers

 

Minimum Requirements

·  BS or MS in CS/EE or related field from a top university, plus 6-10 years experience

·  Solid development skills and experience in Windows and Linux environments

·  Proven ability to rapidly code or prototype using C/C++

·  Hands-on coding experience in engineering data analysis or data mining

·  Background in full software lifecycle, from requirements analysis to formal system delivery

·  Motivated self-starter who likes to work in fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

·  Work well as a team member as well as an individual contributor

·  Excellent written & verbal communication skills & strong customer focus

 

Desirable Skills and/or Experience

·         Experience with Python, Qt, or C#

  • Understanding of wireless standards and wireless marketplace
  • Hands-on experience with real-time processing, statistical methods, or machine learning techniques
  • Experience in managing, processing, and visualizing very large data sets
